When children are building they are learning math, science, language, and social skills. Imagine a toy so simple, yet it supplies exploration in volumne, size, shape, spatial relationships, cause and effect, weight properties, increased vocabulary, understanding symbols and learning how to share and work together in positive ways. WOW. That's impressive.
So get out some blocks and let your child get to work. After all, it's just child's play.
I am so glad that I found your blog! I love your pictures and posts. I totally agree with you about the importance of block play and it is an all time favorite. I have a new kindergarten blog and would love for you to stop by!
