Mary Morse

Hi I'm Mary Morse. Just a little information about me; I was born in North Carolina and lived there until I was ten years old. I moved from an average sized town to Los Angeles County....It was a big change in life for me. I originally came to BYU-Idaho thinking that I would major in Interior Design but something didn't seem right about it. I then contemplated several majors and decided Child Development was the one for me. I love this major. I find the growth of children interesting; how something so small as a baby grows and develops into an adult is fascinating to me. I love to travel and study other cultures. My minor is Humanities because I learn so much culture from it that I hope I can institute it in the classroom and at my home one day. I've traveled to France, Spain, and China and each visit has taught me a lot. I've grown more appreciated and intrigued by other cultures and in some ways have become more appreciative of the United States.

Hello! I'm Hannah Harris. I'm from Lyman, Wyoming. Born and Raised! I have loved working with my major to understand children, having fun with them and each individual personality.
I work with children because I really do love the things that they come up with. They see the world in so many different views that I love to hear them. I like to help them and let them find accomplishments for the tasks that they do. I would love to be a Child Life Specialist and maybe work with a Hospital helping children understand their procedures and their illnesses. I'm really enjoying working with the Kinder Ready Kids this semester.

Tammy Harvey

Hi my name is Tammy Harvey and I am an intern for kinder ready kids this semester! I am really enjoying getting to know all the kids and helping them learn and grow. A little about me... I am from Ellensburg Washington, and I am the youngest child of 10. I have 3 brothers and 6 sisters with 30 nieces and nephews (1 more on the way next month). My husband and I were married last august and will be here for a few years while he finishes his degree in exercise science. I graduated last semester with a BS degree in Child Development. I absolutely loved my major and plan to use my knowledge to raise my own family in the future.

Hi, my name is Ariel Stoddard. I am one of the new interns at Kinder Ready Kids this semester. I am from Star Valley, Wyoming. I just got married in December and am living here in Rexburg while my husband and I finish up school. Last semester at BYU-I was I able to work in the preschool labs on campus. It was so much fun. I loved it and I hope that I can implement some of the things I learned there at Kinder Ready Kids. I'm really excited to work with the children this semester! I know we're going to have lots of fun learning new things!

NEW INTERN

Hi, my name is Melissa Carlisle. I am one of the new interns this semester. I am really looking forward to helping with Kinder-Ready Kids Preschool. Just a little about myself...
I am from Alpine, UT. I served an LDS mission in Rochester, New York. I sure miss that beautiful place! I have really enjoyed majoring in child development. It is fascinating to me to learn about all the processes that take place as a child develops, and how we as teachers, parents, and communities can play a big role in that process. I would love to obtain a Masters degree in dance therapy and work with children who have special needs. Kids are GREAT!

WELCOME BACK TO PRESCHOOL

Brrr, we started back to school on such a cold day! However,we still managed to have lots of fun while meeting our new teachers. Visit the blog again soon to read bio's about our new interns.

We are learning about the changes in the season, why seasons change, and our world around us during the season of winter. It's a fun unit! Yesterday, the children made pictures of the Northern Lights with chalk pastels and cotton on construction paper. They turned out so pretty! Hopefully they showed them to you... :)

The morning class is working on letters M, N, O, and P this month. Today we made monkeys, worked on perfecting our skill at writing the letter M, and practiced name writing. It's coming along nicely! Our current focus in name writing is to write all our letters the same size. Practice at home too!

Healthy snacks are on the menu this month, including lots of oranges and other fresh fruits, muffins, homemade breads, and crackers. As always, let me know if there is an allergy I need to be aware of. Thanks!

Stay warm!! Miss Kari
