October is in full swing and we are planning our preschool Halloween celebration. Everyday we get updates from the kids on what they're going to be for Halloween. Our Halloween party will be on Friday, the 30th. Kids may come in full costume. We will have games, spooky stories, songs and of course, treats! BOO!

Fieldtrip Change

Our Fieldtrip will NOT be on the 18th, as the calendar says. It is being moved to the 25th. We will be visiting Broulims grocery store. Let us know if you'd like to come along!

Off to a Great Start

What fun it's been at preschool! We've almost completed our second week and we are having a fabulous time getting to know the children. They are little smarties! We have been singing some of the funniest songs! Ask your child about The Banana Song and Slippery Fish. We're developing quite a repertoire of music already! Check back often for pictures and updates!

Preschool Open House

Our open house is scheduled for Friday, September 4th. Please come anytime between 12 noon and 2:00. You can meet your child's teachers, see the classroom, meet Franklin (our Russian Tortoise/class pet) and play! Please plan to attend. This is the perfect opportunity for your child to see what things are like. This makes the first day of school less aprehensive and scary!

Book Orders from Scholastic

I am happy to say that Scholastic Book Orders will be available through Kinder-Ready Kids Preschool! They have fantastic deals on books and other media. Make sure you pick them up at our open house. Then, watch for them as they will be sent home monthly. This is a fun, inexpensive way to build your child's library. Books also make great gifts! Hurray for reading!

I'm happy to say that registration is complete and classes are full! Thank you to everyone for returning your emergency contact forms and your deposit. Watch for your postcard to come in the mail - it has information regarding our open house. See you then!

INTRODUCING...

Here are our interns!

Hello, my name is Savannah Smith! I was born and raised in Billings, Montana. I graduated this past summer with a Bachelors of Science in Child Development. I have always loved being around children—even when I was younger. When asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I always said “A mom!” I am the youngest of twelve children and have 38 nieces and nephews, so needless to say I have grown up around children. I hold a special place for children in my heart, but especially children with special needs. I love to watch children learn new things and reach new milestones. I look forward to working with your child this fall. Let’s have some fun!!

Hi! My name is Michelle Gould and I am 21 years old and originally from Visalia, California. My husband and I are finishing up our last semesters this fall and then we will be off to graduate school in January. I am currently studying Child Development and loving every minute of it! I am the oldest of 5 kids so I am used to being around children, I also babysat a lot and that is where my love of children stemmed from. When I first started at BYU-Idaho I took a child development class to see what interested me major wise. Who knew that you could learn so much about children and how they develop! Then on my break at home I was asked to work in the Nursery at my church. To most people that is not what they would want to do but for me it secured my interest in wanting to discover and learn more about children. Not only have I learned more about children but I find they are continuously teaching me. I am so excited to be able to work with your children and see them grow in all the different aspects of learning!

My name is Skyla Campbell and I am from New Plymouth, Idaho. It is a very small town about 40 miles NW of Boise and close to Ontario, Oregon for anyone who may know where that is. I am a junior at BYU-Idaho and I am majoring in Child Development. I love children and I want to work with them in any way that I can. I want to own my own preschool one day and this is why I have decided to intern with Kari. From the moment I met her I knew that she would be an amazing person to learn from. I am looking forward to working with your children and I can't wait to meet you all at the preschool open house.

Hi! I am Rayne Robinson, and I am so excited for the preschool to start! I am from Pocatello, Idaho, and a Child Development major. I love working with preschool age children! They are so curious and fun! I am excited to explore the world with your children!

Welcome to Preschool!

We are SO excited! My interns and I are already busy planning lessons and activities for the first few weeks of school. I can't believe the summer is almost over and school will be starting soon. I'm lucky to have four amazing interns starting this fall: Miss Rayne, Miss Michelle, Miss Skyla, and Miss Savannah. I can't wait for you to meet them! They are senior standing students from BYU-Idaho who bring their talents and experience (which is impressive!) to the classroom. Our student/teacher ratio will be 3/1, which is fabulous, and they can't wait to meet your children and watch them learn and grow! We'll see you in Septemeber!
