NATURE PARK
To celebrate Earth Day we are heading to the Rexburg Nature Park. We have a service project planned "Operation Park Clean Up"! The children are ready to pick up trash and save the planet at the same time! We will also be enjoying the ducks, turtles and if we're lucky, snakes, that roam around the park. Please pack your child a sack lunch complete with water for our picnic. Keep your fingers crossed for sunshine! At least, no rain/wind/hail/snow.... :) See you at the park at 11:30. Pick up is at 1:00.

APRIL NEWS
April is here and so is the wind. Please continue to bring sweaters/hoodies/coats for your children. We are going outside as often as we can, but it's still a little chilly. But chilly or not, we LOVE spending time outside! It feels good to shed our winter coat and run run run!
Spring Break is April 7th and 8th. Enjoy your days off! I am also taking a spring break this year... I will be spending some time in France, celebrating my 20th wedding anniversary! We leave the afternoon of the 5th and I will be back on the 14th. My trusty and stall ward interns will be taking care of things while I'm gone, as well as a previous intern, Miss Skyla, who is coming back to help. Some of you may remember her!
The children have been learning about spring insects, animals, and planting. Whether or not Rexburg realizes it, spring has sprung in our classroom! On Earth Day, April 22nd, we will be taking a field trip to the Nature Park. We are also planning a field trip to the Idaho Falls Zoo in May. Watch for info to come home!

LUCK O' THE IRISH
I'm seeing green!! What a fun Leprechaun week we've had. Those pesky elves left a mess in our classroom, complete with their famous gold coins and dust! We collected the dust (lime Jell-O powder) and sprinkled it on our green apples, which of course made US lucky!! Are the teachers having more fun than the kids????
Scholastic book orders are due. I will keep them open until Monday, the 21st. Our class code is GQRPN. All the catalogs are online. Thanks!
Welcome spring! We will be starting a new unit based on the season and the world around us.

LIBRARY FIELD TRIP
Our field trip to the Madison Public Library is this Friday, March 4th, at 11:00. Please plan on dropping off and picking up at the door. We will be at the library until 12:00. You are welcome to join us!

LOTS OF LITERACY
Dr. Suess' birthday is Wednesday March 2nd. To honor him, we participate in Read Across America day. We will be having a pajama party at preschool. The children can wear their pj's, bring a pillow, and a favorite book. We will be having green eggs and ham for snack! We have a field trip planned for Friday to the Madison Public Library (no formal class that day - the district is out for teacher inservice). In preparation for this, we have been learning about how reading stories can help us learn to make choices and we acted out The 3 Little Pigs in class - it was the cutest thing you've ever seen! We also wrote a story as a class. As always, read to your child!! It's one of the best things you can do!

All About Etiquette
We are ready to show you our stuff - we think!! We have been practicing our best manners and will show them off to you on Wednesday night, the 23rd, at 5:30pm. The dinner has been moved to the Park Street LDS Church - same location as our Christmas party. If you haven't had a chance to sign up for a potluck item, please do so! The sign up will be with the daily sign in sheet.
Learning about our country and our presidents has been rewarding - I have to say that I really felt the spirit of our country as we talked with the children and answered their questions. How blessed we are to have the freedoms we do!
March is on it's way... hopefully with some warmer weather. We will go outside as often as we can.

UPDATED FIELD TRIP INFO
Our field trip to the BYU-I postal service and Animal Museum is Friday, February 4th. Both classes will come together from 9:00am - 10:30am. Half of the students will visit the Animal Museum first while the others visit the postal service, then we will swap. Drop them off at the Auxillary Bldg on South Center St, off of 7th South. Pick up will be in the same location. See you then!
